LEWIS AND CLARK
AND
THE CORPS OF DISCOVERY

Like two Pack Masters with an overgrown group of Boyscouts, Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led the Corps of Discovery through one of the greatest adventures in the history of the United States. In search of the Great Northwest Passage, their band of 10 explored from St. Louis to the Pacific Ocean. All this with only muscle, intellegence, and uncommon bravery to draw upon.

They faced ferocious winters, starvation, and other hardships while keeping exacting records on the longitude, latitude, flora, fauna, weather conditions and much more that they encountered along the way. They accurately depicted this new piece of our country.

Sacagawea was a very enigmatic person in our history. There are no firm facts on her birth, death or even her name. The only fact that is truly agreed upon is that the expedition may not have succeeded without her. Her interactions with the natives encountered was invaluable.
Her contribution was so important to the survival of the Corps that she is being honored by having her image engraved upon the new U.S. one dollar coin.
